A lot of beads are received from manufacturers with a white resin through the hole. The easiest solution I've found to getting rid of this resin (or bead release as it's referred to technically) is by using a craft pipe cleaner (no water, dry only). A few pulls through on the pipe and the bead should be shining from the centre out!
